One of the best evenings that we can remember at the shop was the night we hosted some of the preliminary rounds of the Mid-Missouri Louder Than A Bomb slam poetry contest (the largest such contest IN THE WORLD, just in case you were wondering.) It was an incredibly moving and inspiring night to watch these young poets perform their work in front of an audience. We’re looking forward to hosting more amazing young poets next year, but before then - on Wednesday, December 11, at 6:00 p.m. - we’ll be hosting a One Mic Youth Poetry Night. This will be a safe space for all poets between the ages of 13 to 18 to read their own poetry and present it to the world!

Students will have three and a half minutes allocated to them to read their work. There’s no contest - just a welcoming, laid-back good time where you can share your love of poetry!
