We are always proud to participate in the annual “One Read” community read program put on by our friends at Daniel Boone Regional Library. This year’s selection, FURIOUS HOURS by Casey Cep, has inspired the usual broad and fascinating series of ancillary events, and on Monday, September 13, we’re pleased to host a live in-person discussion about true-crime titles and trends for books being categorized in this genre.

Senior bookseller Carol Putnam will discuss how true crime books have evolved in the last few years beyond the police procedural. Carol is an aficionado of this genre and, with her past work for the U.S. Department of Justice and as a private contractor, she brings a unique background to looking at crime titles.
