Inspired Collaboration Concert featuring Kathleen Basi @ DBRL

Please note: THIS EVENT IS TAKING PLACE AT THE DANIEL BOONE REGIONAL LIBRARY, NOT SKYLARK. However we will be there, selling books!

We were proud to partner with Kathleen Basi when she launched her novel, A Song for the Road, and are excited to be selling more of her wonderful book at this amazing event at the library!

In 2017, Columbia flute teacher Lisa Thill Franck commissioned artist Terry Sutton to create a sculpture using a retired piccolo. When he returned with a quirky, appealing sculpture titled “Flute Fly,” she asked local author and composer Kathleen Basi to compose a duet for flute and piccolo based on Terry’s work.

Join Lisa, Terry, and Kathleen for the world premiere of that duet. Afterward, these three artists will reflect on how a work of art in one medium can influence the creation of art in another. They will share the creative processes that led to the music, words and artwork you will experience. The evening culminates with new art and music created specifically for this event, inspired by a passage from Basi’s recently released novel A Song For the Road.
